It's ok to be six months behind...isn't it?

Ok, so it's been a long time since I've blogged anything on here. Truth is, I put off photography for a little while. I just didn't have alot of time to spend with it and I still don't really. But I am pretty passionate with photography and more than anything I want to get better. The only way to get better is to practice...and practice....and practice some more. So slowly but surely I plan on doing that.

These pictures were taken last November. It was such a nice day to be out taking pictures. Some of you may remember my very first post on here, which was my very first 'job' in the photography business! ha! That sounds funny! Well this is Leah! I took pictures of her when she was a wee little thing and look at her now! In these pictures she was expecting a new baby sibling. At the time they didn't know what it was. Now (six months later), we know it was a boy and his name is Jonah. I hope to get some pictures of him soon :)

This is one of my favorite pictures of all time I think...I love the light in this one

Here are more I took that day...

Next up I have an awesome photoshoot from a workshop by Julie Roberts! I love her and was (still am) so excited to be able to go and learn a lot of stuff from her. I can't wait to post them. And I got a new lens....wooo hooo!

The Anderson's

Meet the Anderson's! This is Daniel, Kylea and their cute as a button little boy Caden. I think Caden had more fun than any of us did. He loved looking at the flowers and sticks and trees and every little thing he could in the time we were there. He is defintely the explorer! I had a lot of fun on this shoot just trying to get them all to look and actually get in the pictures together! At the age of two, its hard to get them to sit still for .5 seconds! It gave me lots of practice though and that's what I wanted. I was glad to get to practice on such a good looking family. I had a great time. I hope you like your pictures, here are some....

See how cute?!

Tried some artsy stuff with some of these

GQ man!

This one was just to test the light and I ended up liking it!

Love this one

Bridals with Julia

This was the most interesting shoot I have done so far. I was so excited to be able to do a bridal session, that I had to make a list of poses in case I drew a blank once I got there. Glad I did!

This is Julia, I did a session with her and her now husband, Ben back in the fall of last year. As I said before, Julia is VERY photogenic and it's so easy to get a good shot of her. The location was the VA hospital in Johnson City. I had never been there before and when she said the VA, I was a little concerned but this place was beautiful! There were lots of backgrounds to choose from. There was a gazebo, lots of trees and old buildings. Their wedding was a couple of weeks ago and she put a couple of these pictures up at the reception.

I am trying to figure out how to display my pictures large, but haven't quite mastered it yet. So please ignore if the images aren't as clear, I'm still working on that. Also, I played around with a couple of these just for fun, let me know if you like them.

And here is the lovely Ju-Ju!

John + Nicole

I had the great pleasure of going to Johnson City last weekend to do an engagement session. This couple had been referred to me by some dear friends, word of mouth is great! Thanks Ben and Julia for sending me business :)

The location: Winged Deer Park. It was a nice little area at the lake to hang out, play on the water and enjoy the weather. The subjects: John and Nicole. They were super sweet and had good ideas for poses. Their chemistry was obvious from the start and have an October wedding date set, which I think is a great time of year for a wedding!

I am trying this new texture thing that I have seen other photographers do, needless to say it took me forever and I still didn’t quite master it. But I will continue to practice, practice, practice!
